The pressure reducing valve of an air compressor system is a simple spring-loaded mechanism. When the inlet pressure is greater than the spring load, the safety valve opens proportionally to the increase in pressure and allows air to "leak" as needed.
Pressure reducing valves for compressed air applications are direct acting and will react automatically if the pressure becomes too high. If over pressurization occurs, the disc seal will move upward due to system pressure on the spring, which holds the valve closed. If the force of the compressed air exceeds the force exerted by the spring, the valve disc will lift from the valve seat and the valve will discharge the compressed air to the atmosphere.
Take LGCY19/21-21/18K air compressor as an example to explain how to adjust the pressure regulating valve:
1. For the two pressure regulating valves, loosen the screws
about 4-5 turns, but do not unscrew them.
2. Turn off the ball valve, both valves need to.
3. Air compressor Power on, low voltage and load reduction
state, start (8-10 seconds), then load, wait for the speed
value to rise, there should be no pressure at this time.
4. Select one of the pressure regulating valves and slowly tighten the screw (6-7 turns); check whether the pressure on the display increases.
1. If it rises, this pressure regulating valve corresponds to low pressure.
2. If the pressure value does not rise, this pressure regulating valve corresponds to high pressure. Loosen this screw and operate the other pressure regulating valve.
5. Tighten the screws until the display pressure reaches 18bar
6. Lock
7. Then relieve the pressure and open the ball valve
to discharge the air flow without shutting down.
8. Then close the ball valve, adjust it to the high pressure state, and load the air compressor pressure. There should be no pressure at this time.
9. At this time, adjust another pressure regulating valve
corresponding to high pressure until the pressure value
on the display reaches 21bar, or a little more than 21,
and lock it. In this way, the air compressor pressure
adjustment is completed.
